Infobase Learning is pleased to announce that two of its online products are winners of The ComputED Gazette’s 20th Annual Best Educational Software Awards (BESSIES): World News Digest in the “High School Social Studies Database” category, and Today’s Science in the “High School Science Database Website” category.
The ComputED Gazette describes the BESSIES as awards that “target innovative and content-rich programs…and Web sites that provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence.” Award winners are chosen annually, and selected from titles submitted by publishers worldwide. The ComputED Gazette has previously awarded BESSIES to three other Infobase Learning databases: The World Almanac® Online, The World Almanac® for Kids Online, and World Religions Online.
Featuring dynamic, topic-based research support, the recently redesigned World News Digest presents more than seven decades of authoritative news summaries and background articles alongside current news, providing information, context, and perspective. Also boasting a fresh redesign and new features, Today’s Science delivers up-to-date science news written especially for students, illuminating the world of scientific discovery. Today’s Science was selected as one of Booklist’s Editors’ Choice Reference Sources and has also received the Education Software Review Award (EDDIES) from The ComputED Gazette. Both databases were also past finalists of the SIIA CODiE Awards.
