The World Almanac® for Kids Online: New, Interactive Trivia Challenge

Infobase is pleased to announce a fun, new classroom activity has been added to The World Almanac® for Kids Online: an interactive Trivia Challenge! Kids form teams and compete to answer Jeopardy!-style questions from different categories. At the end, after the Final Question is answered, the team with the most points wins. All of the answers come from information found in The World Almanac® for Kids Online database, and an instruction sheet makes the rules clear. The Trivia Challenge is accessible from the Resources drop-down menu at the top of every screen or from the link on the right side of the home page.

SMART Board-friendly and just plain fun, the Trivia Challenge can be used to enrich lessons across the curriculum. The Trivia Challenge can get students excited about learning and challenge their natural curiosity as they are quizzed on topics from history and sports to geography, animals, and more. Teachers can play the game with their classes as a lively way to start the school day, or use it as an engaging introduction to new topics. With so many questions and multiple categories to choose from, the Trivia Challenge can be played again and again.

The Trivia Challenge is just the latest in a series of notable updates to the The World Almanac® for Kids Online. Last month, Infobase announced that more than 60 new interactive quizzes and worksheets were added to the database, joining the crossword puzzles and word searches in the new Interactives section (accessible from the Resources drop-down menu)—a fun way for students to get instructional practice and reinforce the subject matter. Also, search results can now be filtered to view just the interactives.
