Issues & Controversies Award Finalist Recognition in the CODiE Awards

Infobase is happy to share news. The 2015 SIIA CODiE Awards named the updated Issues & Controversies database a finalist. Issues & Controversies now competes for the “Best Source for Reference or Education Resources” category.

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software and digital content industries, named 157 finalists across 28 Education categories. Specifically, these finalists represent apps, products, and services from education technology developers across K–20. SIIA will announce all winners during a special awards dinner at the nation’s leading education technology conference, the Education Industry Summit, in San Francisco in May.

Issues & Controversies, a winner of The ComputED Gazette’s Education Software Review Award (EDDIES), provides essential information. It helps users analyze issues, write research papers, and prepare for debates. Additionally, it explores both sides of hundreds of today’s hot topics through in-depth articles; thought-provoking, Oxford-style debate videos; original overview videos; interactive polls; printable handouts; discussion questions; current news articles; and more.

“This year’s finalists are breaking ground with new business models and innovative products. We are pleased to recognize the best in educational technology with these 157 products,” said Karen Billings, vice president and managing director of the Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN) of SIIA. “I look forward to honoring them all in May at the Education Industry Summit.”

Within the market, SIIA CODiE Awards remain the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program. Educators and administrators conduct the first round review of all nominees. Judges then select the CODiE Awards finalists, and SIIA members vote on those finalist products. SIIA tabulates the scores from both rounds to select the winners.
