ISTE 2016 Event News Highlights Infobase Conference Activity
ISTE 2016 news was incredibly positive for Infobase. We enjoyed getting to see so many of our customers in person and meet new contacts as well. In fact, over 1,500 educators, district coordinators, and other education professionals from around the world visited booth #3341.
ISTE Infobase Visitors
Among the many visitors to our booth were McAllen School District, Surrey School District, and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. They also included Syracuse City School District and Colorado Springs School District. Other visitors were Iowa AEA Purchasing Consortium, NWOET, and Lincoln Public Schools. We also welcomed Fairfax County Schools, Baltimore County Schools, and San Bernardino USD. Halifax Regional School Board visited as well, along with many others.
The biggest highlight of the show for us was hosting Debbie Jarrett, Education Technology Instructor and Content Coordinator for ETV StreamlineSC, at our booth. Debbie led a series of important presentations on Learn360 that provided professional development opportunities for our customers. In particular, she showcased ways that Learn360 can be integrated with systems like Google Classroom and other LMS/CMS, Blendspace, Zaption, QR codes, and more. She discussed how students and educators all over South Carolina are using Learn360, creating assignments and custom segments, and more. This “peer” perspective provided helpful real-world applications and use cases for our premier multimedia resource for educators.
Flipped classrooms, blended learning, and other K-12 teaching strategies were popular topics. Our booth staff showed how our streaming video, databases, and eBooks can help meet those goals. Booth visitors gravitated towards products such as Learn360, Bloom’s Literature, Science Center, and The World Almanac® for Kids Online. Needless to say, our staff set up a lot of free trials!
Plus, our booth was “prize central”! Many happy winners left our booth feeling a little luckier than before. We raffled off the ultimate health package: a Fitbit Charge and a free 1-year subscription to our new and improved Health Reference Center database. Visitors loved our scratch-off games, and our prize wheel was fun to spin for prizes such as a Kindle Fire HD.
…And The Winner Is…
Our ISTE excitement didn’t end at the show. When we returned to the office, we were delighted to learn that Learn360 had won. Tech & Learning chose it for the ISTE 2016 Best of Show Awards This is the fifth award bestowed upon Learn360!
