Exciting Changes Are Underway. Learn What to Expect
The news is out—Infobase resources are moving to a new platform! The upgraded product experience brings helpful new features and will be applied to all products through 2026.
What does the Infobase plaftorm offer?
Connected interface
One consistent interface across all products means users can find what they need faster.
Enhanced research tools
New features across all products, including an interactive Mind Map, in-platform federated search and shareable user accounts.
Technology integrations
Support for leading educational technologies, including LTI 1.3 and SSO authentication.
Inclusive access
WCAG 2.2 AA compliance to meet the federal accessibility standards mandate and improve access for all users.
What products are affected?
Much of the Infobase portfolio has already been migrated to the new portfolio. Based on your subscriptions, you may expect to see the following products migrated to the new platform no later than Summer 2026:
- History Research Center, including:
- African American History
- American History
- American Indian History
- Ancient & Medieval History
- Modern World History
- World Religions
- Issues & Controversies
- Science Hub, including:
- Science Online
- Today’s Science
What do you need to do?
Nothing at this time.
As each of your subscribed products becomes available on the new platform, you will receive an email notification with access to a preview environment. This allows you to review the new experience before making any changes institution-wide.
If you wish, you may activate the new platform earlier through your admin portal. Otherwise, all listed products will automatically upgrade on June 29, 2026—no action required.
To ensure a smooth transition:
All existing URLs will redirect automatically
Individual user accounts will carry over to the new environment
Products will continue to function as stand-alone resources, with easier navigation between them
